Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how MyKaval ("MyKaval," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our home security hardware, mobile and web applications, and related services (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, phone number, and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Site & device information — the address where your system is installed, your panel and sensor identifiers, arming state, and device status.
- Event & alarm data — sensor events, alarms, troubles, and the actions you take in response (such as acknowledging or dismissing an alert).
- Usage & diagnostic data — app interactions, log data, device type, and crash reports used to keep the Service reliable.
2. How we use information
- To deliver security and life-safety alerts to you and the members of your household.
- To operate, maintain, and secure the Service.
- To provide an audit trail of events, alerts, and acknowledgments.
- To verify your identity (for example, email and SMS verification).
- To communicate with you about your account, service status, and support.
3. Notifications
To deliver alarms reliably, MyKaval sends push notifications through Apple Push Notification service (APNs) and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). For genuine life-safety events, these alerts may be delivered as critical alerts that can sound even when your device is muted or in Do Not Disturb. You control notification settings within the app and your device settings.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- With members you invite to your site, according to their assigned role.
- With service providers who help us operate the Service (such as cloud hosting, messaging, and email providers), under contractual confidentiality obligations.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the public.
MyKaval is self-monitored. We do not forward your alarms to a central monitoring station or to emergency services. You decide whether to contact emergency services.
5. Data retention
We retain account and event information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Certain audit records are retained for a longer period to support security and accountability. You may request deletion of your account as described below.
6. Security
We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest where appropriate, mutual authentication between panels and our cloud, and access controls to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to protect your data.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@mykaval.com.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date above.
